Kit Holmes at Aylesbury.

Infectious with her charm and playful in her performance. That’s how I would describe the wonderful Kit Holmes.
On a night at Southcourt Studios there was an air of the unexpected. I arrived as Kit was completing her sound check. I confess I had not heard of ms Holmes before but that is the joy of going to small gigs. Last time I saw a live gig was Clive Carroll and that was an experience I will always remember.
Kit had it tougher tonight I felt. The audience were warm to her …

Roger Daltrey photos from Party in the Paddock 2008

Mr Daltrey is a true legend, and it is my honour to display these photos of the the great man on my blog. These photos were taken with a Nikon D300 & a basic Nikon D40x using a combination of Nikon’s 24-70mm F2.8 and the 70-200mm F2.8 AS-F VR.
On stage, Roger Daltrey was on form. The man has obviously been performing for years but his energy and enthusiasm never wavered. It was just a shame I could not have been nearer the front of the stage; it was a modest …

Just for fun last night, I thought I’d try out the 50mm F1.2 lens a friend lent me for the Red Bullets gig. Enjoy!

The Red Bullets. Black Bottom Club, Northampton

It has been several months since GigPhotographer has caught up with the Red Bullets. To quote their lead singer Pete, “It has been an up and down year”. That reflects what has happened with the absence of their lead guitarist Kyle Hall and their bass player Mark Wheeler.
But all that was filed into the history books as the Red Bullets performed an amazing set to a pack Black Bottom Club.
I am currently editing the photos, but I thought I would mention there will be a whole flood of new photos …

Chrystina Tomlin at The Stables theatre, Milton Keynes

What an amazing night! I’ve known Chrystina Tomlin on and off for the past 3 years so I knew I was going to see something special, but last night at her debut at the Stables she was magical. She seemed very humbled that so many people turned out to see her, if anything it was a privilege to see a gift talent perform.
Below are some sneak peek shots.

Hobble on the Cobble 2010. Aylesbury.

Ah, you got to love the British weather haven’t you!? But by the same token there is nothing that beats the British determination to put on a good show and have a good time. This was the case with Aylesbury’s Hobble on the Cobble 2010 in heart of Buckinghamshire.
Yours truly was not able to photograph this years event because I was busy with photographing the second of two weddings that weekend, however a recent addition to the Music Photographer ranks, John Parish,  was there to put his Canon 7D to …

Funkify at the Hurlingham Club, London.

Hedge Funds Support of Heroes.
Last night was a very special evening. It was about the “blokes out there” saving lives and doing a great job for the Armed Forces. This photographer certainly believes they are the true heroes, not those attention seekers on television.
Funkify were the night’s live band entertainment. They invited me to photograph their event last night. It was a great night; the band were really rocking out the place and the guests really seemed to enjoy it. I’ll upload more photos a bit later, for now I’ve …

Mark Edwards, Red Bullets at Silverstone

In the first part of the Red Bullets at Silverstone, I thought it would be appropriate to start with the drummer Mark Edwards. I hadn’t seen Mark in a while but when I did find him in the camp sight he looked different, a bit more confident perhaps. In light of the Mark Wheeler and Kyle Hall leaving he seem reassured that the new band members would fit in comfortably.
What I like about Mark is he does like to be photographed, although I did remind him of that time he …

Red Bullets at Silverstone, sneak peek.

An amazing day spent with one of my favourite bands just by the Silverstone race track ahead of the British Gran Prix happening now.
I took quite a few photos, but for now here are a few images for the fans.

Wired at Rickmansworth Festival 2010

In my most humble opinion , it’s my website so I can say what I like :-), you have two choices as an up and coming band; be an originals band where you write, arrange and perform your own songs, or you are a covers band. An originals band have their own problems to hurdle the main one being most people have not heard of their songs. With a covers band you face another difficulty in that the audence will know the songs you sing, they will know it very …

Colvex at Rickmansworth Festival.

A great sound from a sharply dressed band! They had a great sound and the lead singer had a good presence. Below are just a few of the photos I took from their live performance at Rickmansworth Festival. This is the kind of photography I enjoy!
Check out their website (which is pretty cool) on www.colvex.co.uk
