Mr Daltrey is a true legend, and it is my honour to display these photos of the the great man on my blog. These photos were taken with a Nikon D300 & a basic Nikon D40x using a combination of Nikon’s 24-70mm F2.8 and the 70-200mm F2.8 AS-F VR.

On stage, Roger Daltrey was on form. The man has obviously been performing for years but his energy and enthusiasm never wavered. It was just a shame I could not have been nearer the front of the stage; it was a modest sized gig but the crowd had surged forward leaving no room for anybody let alone an eager photographer! In hindsight I should have just camped out the front, but I would have lost opportunities to take photographs behind the stage in the VIP area! I believe I made the right decision.

Roger Daltrey was surrounded by fans, but surprisingly not a huge entourage of his “people”. He was very modest and gracefully answer questions from technicians, organisers and fans in the VIP tent. I have never met a living legend before, and neither am I a celebrity hound; even so I knew I was in the presence of someone who has lived a full life and has changed the face of music as we know it today.

I got to say hello, take photographs and shake the hand of a music icon. There is no doubt in my mind that moment will be with me for the rest of my life.
