Netball tournament

7 May 2009 No Comment

I’ll confess, I’ve never seen a netball game before let alone a tournament. I never considered it a sport that deserved my attention. BUT (notice the emphasis on the but) I will accept that I am wrong. Netball is fast paced, exhausting and frighteningly competitive.

I used to believe it was graceful and at a more leisurely pace, I was so wrong! The players’ pace and stamina was relentless, I could tell they were passionate as every pass, interception and marking was committed to the desire to win.

I got some great shots thanks to the Nikon D3 and 70-200mm lens I used which meant I could really get into the heart of the action.

I will need permission to display the photos here on gigphotographer.com but I hope that is a formality. The photos I took do not do the players justice. For brief moments I forgot I was a photographer and enjoyed watching a great game.
