A photographer in Uganda day one
Ahhh, Africa! It has been a long dream of mine to photograph in one of the most amazing and spiritually rich countries in the world. In my search for something that captures my heart (relationships comes to mind) I needed something that would just release my creative side. As much as I love Australia and South East Asia, it has always been Africa that conjured up great images in my mind.
This journey was as much about the people as it was about the land and it was definitely the people that gave this old man an unfilled question…what is my purpose in life. In all honestly I still don’t the final answer, but what I have learnt from the Ugandans I pass by and the children who have touched my heart is that there is always hope. HOPE HOPE HOPE. To most people that may sound like a cliche, but after a tough 2008 I found something that has given me meaning again.
I hope you like my pictures. These are all based on the land that a Christian charity called Ugandan Jesus Village have bought and developed. In eleven months they have grown all types of crop, built a clinic and 5 other buildings to house the sick and they continue to flourish and grow in every way possible. I have never seen hope demonstrated better than this.
The photos are simply a personal account, a dreamer who has had a small taste of his dream. When you look at them at the very least I hope you think of Africa and Hope. I certainly will for the rest of my life.
Day 2 photos will be uploaded tomorrow.
