The Children of Uganda, Day 4

10 June 2009 4 Comments

Day 4 was an opportunity to know the children a bit better. A football came was arranged (as much as things can be arranged in Africa) so it was entertaining to photograph them showing off their skills. Most of them were more fascinated by my origins and how my camera gear worked. What is surprisingly refreshing was although the children wanted to know everything, they remained respectful and never sulked or moaned like some children I know. They showed an astonishing amount of maturity which is both fascinating and a reminder of where they came from and what they have witnessed.

I like this – it’s how travel photography should be. They all look comfortable in front of the camera. Nice work..

Thanks for the kind words Dwiko. Once again, I can’t take much credit, they really are the most amazing kids I have ever met.
