A photographer in Uganda. Day 6
This was my penultimate day in Uganda. I write this almost 3 weeks later and all I can think about is Africa. I cannot say enough about the children there and how much I loved their spirit and happiness with who they are. In contrast since I have been back in England I have witness selfishness, greed, anger and pettiness which stirs me up inside into something bitter.
This day was a visit to the school setup by the UJV. My visit was timed to be during their play time in the school’s courtyard. With my trusty Nikon D300 and the ever reliable 18-200mm I captured as much as I could knowing that my time there was limited. It wasn’t a problem capturing the children, but it was a bit more problematic trying to photograph them in their natural state, they all wanted to pose in front of the camera which I obliged.
What was intesting to me was their play time is much like how I remember mine when life for children was much simpler. They play chasing and skipping games, they got togther in small groups to talk about things, the girls hung out with girls and likewise for the boys. There was a very healthy abundance of laughing and smiling which really touched me.
Once again, it was a privilege to be among them and to be so easily accepted by their generosity and kindness.

Love em, as always…!
amazing (:
