Family fun day at Aylesbury Vale Park
From time to time, I get a call to photograph a worthy event, and it gives me a break from Weddings, Gigs and Portraits. This was the case with the Family Fun day. It is a totally free event for all the local families. I had a fabulous time and it looks like another successful year for the Organizers. I’m sure it will go from strength to strength.
Photographing an open air event presents it’s own challenges; you have to be more vigilant when looking for something unique in a place were people are doing ordinary things. Well, when I say challenges I actually mean fun! I knew I was going to have to take photos from a distance and some wider and close up shots; with that in mind I packed my 70-200mm F/2.8 and my spare Sigma 18-50mm F/2.8. I couldn’t really miss with those two lenses.
You may be wondering why I put this little dog at the top of the list!? When I kneeledĀ down to photograph him, he poked with his curious nose at my lens, he then suddenly retreated and barked FAR LOUDER than I expected when he decided he didn’t like my camera (or me), this in turn made everyone in that queue jump simultaneously which made people wonder what I was doing do that dog!!
