The AnyDays at Runway Festival

8 September 2009 One Comment

I had one of those tingling feelings when Adrienne from Runway Studios invited me to her Runway Festival last Saturday. It was like my Spidey Sense was preparing me a great experience. I am not entirely certain, but I think the tingling was about a band called The Anydays.

When they took the stage, I wasn’t sure what to make of them. It wasn’t until they burst into their song “I Feel Free” that they really caught my attention. With their catchy 60′s retro riffs and the nods to The Who and Oasis they bring something refreshingly fun about themselves.

Nial (bass), Drew (guitar and lead vocals) and Cal (drums) practically demand you thump to their sound. It’s that pounding rhythm that grounds the hooks of the choruses and the upbeat tempo. They are certainly a band with big presence using every part of the stage. They have been a hit around Europe as well as playing several dates in the Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire area.

Their happy go lucky songs are a breath of welcome air. They know how to give a brilliant performance on stage, I know the Runway crowd showed their appreciation with lots of whoops and cheers after every song. They are a band who are instantly likable and GigPhotographer has certainly become a fan.
