Netball, it’s not just a game, it’s a sport!
A few months ago, I was asked to photograph the local Netball playoffs at the Stoke Mandeville Guttman’s sports center, Aylesbury. Up until that point, I had never considered Netball a game I would enjoy watching, but there is a lot of skill, strength and speed involved.
Photographing sports delivers new challenges which I relish. I had to anticipate where the best action might be; it is a lot of trial and error but I soon learnt where to position the lens.
It was great fun. Many thanks to Sam for arranging everything and I hope to photograph the girls in the next season.

one of my personal favourite things to capture in a photograph is the movement. You have certainly done that in these exceptional photos. They really catch that elevation, the sheer determination to reach that ball, the presence of the girls in the game they are playing.
It gives me a new light for photographing sports. I’d be proud to have these as part of my portfolio.
