My Perspective, video »
I’m researching my next digital SLR camera, the big difference this time is I am strongly consider the Canon range and not the Nikon’s I am familiar with. Even since I was a young lad I wanted to be a film maker, I wanted to tell a story. My career has reflected this; starting as a 3D Animator, to storyboard artist, to graphic artist to photographer.
This little documentary embodies everything I love about film making; telling a small and intimate story using very simple cinematography and editing. Watch it all, …

NBS asked gigphotographer to photograph their band when they came to play in Aylesbury. They specifically wanted some posed shots and some ‘caught in the action’ shots in their two sets.
I had heard them play once before, and to say that my ears enjoyed it would probably sum it up pretty well! My ears were ringing for AGES after the gig! Yes….I should invest in some ear plugs.
This time round, I was excited to see a full set and again, it was very pleasing! They pounded out the first song …

Did you know that one of the hardest parts of doing Music Photography is choosing which photos to use? On top of that, it’s difficult to edit the individual shots. Do I bleach wash it, use black and white, make it more vibrant…? The variables are limitless. This is the delima presented to us when choosing the photos all week for The Red Bullets.
Today is the final part of Red Bullets Week*. These are the group shots of the band we know and love. As individuals they have their unique …

It is the opinion of this Photographer (and it is only an opinion) that every band lives and dies with their front man; Aerosmith needs Steve Tyler, Foo Fighters needs Dave Grohl and The Red Bullets need Pete Edwards. Pete has to bare the weight as the voice of the Bullets so his stage performance is equally as important as his vocals.
Unlike most front men, Pete is behind a keyboard which is in a seated position. This means he is physically limited to how he can perform on stage, but …

The third part of GigPhotographer’s Red Bullets week.
Damn, photographing drummers is difficult…fact! They’re tucked behind their kit, tucked behind the band, tucked at the back of the stage. The Red Bullet’s drummer is no exception. We knew it would represent a challenge; I even said to Mark to look up whenever he does see us.
We did get some good shots thanks to Mark’s extroverted manner, the lights at on the stage really helped to give the images an interesting contrast.

On the second day of Red Bullet’s week, we come to their lead guitarist Kyle Hall.
Always a pleasure to photograph; Kyle gives his every ounce in performing! He has some personal stances that are individual to Kyle, and Kyle only! Capturing the movement in Kyle’s performance is, dare I say it…easy? He is the the momentary spark of extrovert jumps and leaps, the energy of endless rhythm, and the guitar hero of us all.

In the first part in GigPhotographer’s RED BULLETS week, these are the exclusive photos of the Bass player Mark Wheeler.
Mark Wheeler (Wheeler to his friends) is the band’s steady underlying beat on bass guitar. He has the typical stance that bass players have, with that added ‘something’ that you know is different and special but you just can’t put your finger on it.
Taking to the centre of the stage, he occupied it gloriously with the lead guitarist and lead vocals on keyboard maneuvering around him. He has some regular poses, …

I have to say, this band really surprised me. Their personalities really shone through their performance, and you could genuinely feel the enjoyment, pleasure and fun in The Echoes’ set! The lads were all very animated which made them great to photograph. I loved their harmonies, and their presence onstage just enticed you in. I still have one of their songs stuck in my head; I just can’t stop humming it!
