I just wanted to share this one out there. It was taken on the first day of the us photographing them. Ross was just chilling out with some other band members when I asked Ross to move so that I could have that great landscape behind him. After a bit of post editing, I think the shot worked out better than I expected.

Kelly and I went to visit the lads from local band Alight for a photoshoot session why they were recording. I’m sorting out the photos now, this is just a teaser. More coming soon.

The performance was kept short and sweet, which meant I was permanently on my toes, whipping round to get those all important ‘in the moment’ shots.  It was great to hear some new sounds from the band, and catch a few unexpected additions of Ellie’s performance to the lapping it up crowd…lets just say, monolopy’s not just for playing at home.

It was certainly a packed out venue for the launch of SSA’s EP; I could barely make my way to the front of the stage!
I did manage to though, and was blown away by the energetic, full bodied performance by the stunning Ellie on lead vocals, and the perfect combination of Darren, Noel and Rob who accompany her to make up this edgy JUST BEEN SIGNED band that we know by the name of Slashed Seat Affair!

Alight are a four piece band who deliver rock anthems with a touch of 80′s class. They provided a great stage prescene and really whipped out the crowd who really enjoyed their act and their music. GigPhotographer is confident they will be a success in the future.
Gigphotographer has been working with them on a project that I hope will come to fruition soon. Watch this space!

I was at a great gig tonight listening to Guildford based band 10P Short play at a friend’s living room. Review and more photos to follow soon. It’s 1.45am, I need to sleep.

He has been covered countless times and GigPhotographer is sure he will be spoken of for many years to come. He is compared to other icons of the past like Elvis, James Dean and Frank Sinatra. However, what makes THIS icon so relevant is because he is (or was) a living icon of THIS generation.
Perhaps he lost his brightness along the way, but a star that burns so bright will burn out. It was in his light that we shall remember him and I thought it was about time GigPhotographer …
