Last year, I was invited to a Drummer’s book launch. It was a modest affair but a good turn out in West London. The drummer, Phil Page, put on a great show and the evening was a big hit.
I am a drummer myself so for me the biggest star was the drum kit itself. I can’t describe how big the setup was, but I did not was an opportunity to photograph the kit from Phil’s point of view. The only way to fit it all in was to use the …

I LOVE IT WHEN A PLAN COMES TOGETHER!!!
Put very simply, I wanted three of the bands I love to photograph into one big group shot. I had a small window of opportunity to get this done at the Aylesbury Festival over the weekend. It was a matter of contacting them on Facebook, getting them to agree to it initially and then figure out when is the best time to get everyone together. The latter was problematic because the bands were on at very different times to each to each other!
I …

It’s almost amazingly random how I ended up at MK today; just by reading Tom Craven’s wall post on Facebook I found myself preparing to shoot for a festival with little preparation.
I fully expected to get some great shots of local amateur bands, but what I could not have foreseen was the amazing clouds that appeared towards thee end of the evening, nor could I have predicted the sun bursting through those clounds, even more surprising was a mother and her child passing through my shot just as I clicked …

After a very hectic day with emails, wedding plans and trying to UN-STRESS my friends it was quite comforting to know I would be photographing one of my favourite bands Lightbox. I’m very tired right now as it’s 1.18AM and I need to be fresh for Kelly’s Wedding later today. I’m very excited for her, but I’m not entirely sure she realises that I WILL be a photographer first and a guest second….
In the meantime, I took this testshot as the Lightbox lads were sound chceking and I think it …

I am sure by now that you’ve heard me talk about the country, the climate, the faith and the children, but in truth I can only describe my experience as “Life Changing”. I have deliberately been broad in my posts because there is so much to cover that it would not be possible to convey. So I’ll leave you with the last few photos from my final day in Uganda and at the Uganda Jesus Village.
A massive thanks to Frazer of Rockfish Streetwear, Marika from UJV and everyone who I …

A while ago a friend asked me to show him some abstract photos so he could put on his office wall. So I compied a short list and sent him the following. I hope you like them!

Since I have returned to the UK, my friends have been naturally asking me about Africa and everytime I has to pause and really think about that question because I can’t give the same answer twice! The word “Awesome” and “Amazing” are such cliches that they do not serve to describe how life changing Africa was for this lowly Photographer!
Day 5 was more about interviewing the children and to ask them about their past. We were very sensitive to the fact that would should not force them to answer anything …

Day 4 was an opportunity to know the children a bit better. A football came was arranged (as much as things can be arranged in Africa) so it was entertaining to photograph them showing off their skills. Most of them were more fascinated by my origins and how my camera gear worked. What is surprisingly refreshing was although the children wanted to know everything, they remained respectful and never sulked or moaned like some children I know. They showed an astonishing amount of maturity which is both fascinating and a …

An opportunity has arisen which I can only describe as being from God. In a weeks time I will be leaving for Uganda to document Rockfish Streetwear’s first visit. RFSW is Christian clothing company that will be launched very soon. It’s founder, Frazer Evett, will be going over there to see, and more importantly feel, what the situation is like over there.
My main role will be split into two duties; photography and video with what I believe will be a 50/50 split. I would far prefer to photograph more but …
