I am sure by now that you’ve heard me talk about the country, the climate, the faith and the children, but in truth I can only describe my experience as “Life Changing”.  I have deliberately been broad in my posts because there is so much to cover that it would not be possible to convey. So I’ll leave you with the last few photos from my final day in Uganda and at the Uganda Jesus Village.
A massive thanks to Frazer of Rockfish Streetwear, Marika from UJV and everyone who I …

I’ve just posted a comprehensive guide to what equipment I use on weddings and gigs. There are guides to equipment based on budget as well as considerations when choosing between a camera body and lens. I hope you find it useful.

OK, so the news isn’t a baby or that I’m an uncle… in fact it’s even better (sorry parents). My pursuit and purchase of the missing lens in my family arrived just 30 minutes ago. When I got the huge package I didn’t rip it apart, I savoured the moment. I took my time opening it but then remembered I should be documenting this. Yes, I realise this sounds weird, but you may not have any idea what potential this lens has to my shooting options. However, I digress.
Fortunately I …

What you can see above is an actual photograph from the Slashed Seat Affair video shoot; I really want to show you them but alas this is the best I can do…for now.
I am really putting my photo application Lightroom through it’s paces!! There are so many fantastic photos of the Slashed Seat Affair photoshoot that I don’t know how to stop! I have to cut them down and choose the best 30; it would be eaiser to cut my arm off!
Shot after shot gives me tingles, I just cannot …

I was honoured to be invited to the video shoot for Slashed Seat Affair’s first video from the up and coming album. I am sworn to secrecy regarding the video itself but I wanted to post about the band’s electrifying energy and limitless stamina.
I cannot post the photos on this blog yet but I can talk about the bands masterful performances and professionalism.
Delivering the Thunder – Rob, drummer

Even though Rob sits at the back he is by no means taking a back seat. Drumming is something I am passionate about …

I was invited to photograph a local band’s recording session. I had been to the studio before so I knew what to expect from the lighting conditions; I made sure I packed my trusty SB-800 flash units. The 5 piece band Lightbox had already been setting up and recording for few hours by the time I had arrived.
I shot while they were recording which is always a creative process; the lads are concentrating on their music too much to notice me. They took a break to do some scenic shots …

Saturday was one just one of those days when multiple events happen to be booked on one day; photoshoot 3 music acts, a neighbours BBQ and for most of the day a 24 hour fundraising badminton session. I took my trusty Nikon along to document the event as well as taking part. Although there are no photos of me actually playing I was on the courts quite a bit!! Honest!

As well as the games itself, there were things to entertain the kids such as video games, fancy dress and a …

After the high energy of Slashed Seat Affair last week, I knew it would be a hard act to follow. I have not been disappointed with the acts so far however when Christina Tomlin (www.chrystinatomlin.com) came on I had an open mind.
The crowd took a while to warm up but Christina was a pro, dug in and sung her songs with passion. I was sold! I pointed my lens and searched for the killer shot. I admired Christina’s performance, she was selling it without being over the top. Sometimes in …

Pause are a rock band with a distictive sound, very enjoyable to photograph and Matt (the lighting engineer) really put on a great show around them. Claire Batchelor, who performed solo ealier, also supported Pause as a backing singer and guitar. The real character for me was the drummer, he was just legendary and really played up to the camera; his personality really came through and some of the shots just cracked me up!!
