Hedge Funds Support of Heroes.
Last night was a very special evening. It was about the “blokes out there” saving lives and doing a great job for the Armed Forces. This photographer certainly believes they are the true heroes, not those attention seekers on television.
Funkify were the night’s live band entertainment. They invited me to photograph their event last night. It was a great night; the band were really rocking out the place and the guests really seemed to enjoy it. I’ll upload more photos a bit later, for now I’ve …

It’s no secret that I love video as as medium. As a young boy I wanted to be a film maker, but my parents told me to be something “better” instead like a Doctor or Accountant(?).
Anyway, I stumbled upon this video; a film maker asked Londoners one simple question. It is no so much the people’s answers that grab me, it is the editing and composition that melts me. This is why film interests me.

What does it mean to be a Professional Photographer?
This post is not about going to talk about how to be a Photographer; I’m sure you will know your F-Stops from your ISO levels. This is a short article about becoming being a paid Professional Photographer.
I receive email from students and folks from all walks of life asking to join me at a gig or Wedding. Unfortunately I have to turn all of them down (but I never ignore them, that’s just rude). I tell them there is one massive difference …

OK, for those who are of a sensitive nature don’t read the next bit and skip to the 3rd paragraph.
I FUCKING LOVE MUSIC PHOTOGRAPHY!!!!!
Ok, I do apologize. I have been sitting in front of this Macbook trying to find a sentence that encapsulates my feelings for what I do. It’s not very Christian, but it’s definitely rock and roll. I have already photographed a living legend, it was a moment I’ll never forget. My problem was, back then I did not fully appreciate the opportunity. A year and …

Without doubt, The Red Bullets are one of my favourite bands and that goes for signed bands too!
The lead singer Peter Edwards has earned his place as the band’s front man. Even though he sits down during the set that doesn’t mean we can take our eyes off him for a minute! Equally Pete’s brother Mark on the drums is a force to be reckoned with. I once made the mistake of playing on his drums, let’s just say he playfully suggested I stick to photography. Then there’s Mark Wheeler, …

It’s getting late but before I hit the sack I wanted to share this with you. I don’t know what inspired me to stand at the exit of the stage but it felt like a good idea. It just so happened our good friends The Red Bullets were just coming off stage. Pete came off first so it was natural for me to take just one photo of him coming off. But then after Pete was Mark, then Kyle. Wheeler was still on stage putting some kit away. I needed …

I love it when something surprises you with something totally unexpected. Take this band who call themselves The Original Sinners. That is quite a name (and reputation) to live up to. Now take into consideration the members of this band look like they are very close friends with Mr Jack Daniels!
It’s not often that I’m surprised, but I certainly enjoy it when I am. The Original Sinners came on and just blasted Aylesbury with a wall of sound, when the crowd picked themselves up they were presented with an onslaught …

Claire is one of those talented musicians who is also a bit of a perfectionist, but this reflects in her performances on a lazy Sunday afternoon in the middle of Aylesbury. Without drama or pretension, she played through her set like an artist who had been perfecting her act up until the last minute; fine tuning every little bit she could.
Behind stage, she was as bubbly and engaging as ever. She will always greet you with a warm smile, and be the first to be support of other artists. GigPhotographer …

I returned yesterday from probably the most significant conference I have ever been to. Most of you will not have heard of it, it is a Christian event called New Wine down in Somerset.
This website is not the proper forum to discuss the purpose of the conference, however I did want to write about the lack of photographic coverage of the event. The way the entire conference is setup was there are morning and evening meetings with about 15-20 seminars during the day. It’s not possible for an individual to …

If I had a penny for every time someone asked me which photographers I follow I could by dozens of…sweets! Seriously though, I don’t follow photographers, I follow photos. If there is a particular lighting, look or composition that makes me go “wow” then I am a big fan of that photo but not necessarily the photographer. There are exceptions of course. When it comes to Photography in general then I love Annie Leibovitz’s work. When we are talking about Music Photography then it has to be American Photographer Todd …
