The Picturedrome is a classic venue that heralds it’s greatest glory days back in the 60s. From the front it’s unasuming but it’s when you enter and get to the back to the main hall is where it’s splendor comes into sight. While I was photographing a wedding in Wales I happend across the band called the Bad Cats. They are a talented bunch of lads from Manchester. Even though I was photographing a Wedding, I spared a few minutes to capture the band playing, after all, what kind of Gig Photographer would I be if I didn’t take a few shots?

NBS asked gigphotographer to photograph their band when they came to play in Aylesbury.  They specifically wanted some posed shots and some ‘caught in the action’ shots in their two sets.
I had heard them play once before, and to say that my ears enjoyed it would probably sum it up pretty well! My ears were ringing for AGES after the gig! Yes….I should invest in some ear plugs.

It is the opinion of this Photographer (and it is only an opinion) that every band lives and dies with their front man; Aerosmith needs Steve Tyler, Foo Fighters needs Dave Grohl and The Red Bullets need Pete Edwards. Pete has to bare the weight as the voice of the Bullets so his stage performance is equally as important as his vocals.

In the first part in GigPhotographer’s RED BULLETS week, these are the exclusive photos of the Bass player Mark Wheeler.
Mark Wheeler (Wheeler to his friends) is the band’s steady underlying beat on bass guitar. He has the typical stance that bass players have, with that added ’something’ that you know is different and special but you just can’t put your finger on it.

The performance was kept short and sweet, which meant I was permanently on my toes, whipping round to get those all important ‘in the moment’ shots.  It was great to hear some new sounds from the band, and catch a few unexpected additions of Ellie’s performance to the lapping it up crowd…lets just say, monolopy’s not just for playing at home.

It was certainly a packed out venue for the launch of SSA’s EP; I could barely make my way to the front of the stage!
I did manage to though, and was blown away by the energetic, full bodied performance by the stunning Ellie on lead vocals, and the perfect combination of Darren, Noel and Rob who accompany her to make up this edgy JUST BEEN SIGNED band that we know by the name of Slashed Seat Affair!

GigPhotographer approached Danny and Adam some time ago about filming a video for their awesome single Decisions. They had never planned on it, but there was an opportunity to have one filmed within a studio environment. So in a very secret location near Milton Keynes myself, Danny, Adam and Natalie shot this video in under seven hours.
I enjoyed the experience and learnt alot about filming quality and most of all studio lighting which is very different from Flash photography.

Frowser were the last to come on at Bellfest. Adrienne (the even organizer) warned the crowd these are going to be the loudest band of the event. She wasn’t wrong! I sat with a friend Neil who came from Aylesbury to see them. Apparently they have been around for a while. He too warned me they would be electric; as I watched them setup they seemed unassuming.
