Funkify at the Hurlingham Club, London.

Hedge Funds Support of Heroes.
Last night was a very special evening. It was about the “blokes out there” saving lives and doing a great job for the Armed Forces. This photographer certainly believes they are the true heroes, not those attention seekers on television.
Funkify were the night’s live band entertainment. They invited me to photograph their event last night. It was a great night; the band were really rocking out the place and the guests really seemed to enjoy it. I’ll upload more photos a bit later, for now I’ve …

Mark Edwards, Red Bullets at Silverstone

In the first part of the Red Bullets at Silverstone, I thought it would be appropriate to start with the drummer Mark Edwards. I hadn’t seen Mark in a while but when I did find him in the camp sight he looked different, a bit more confident perhaps. In light of the Mark Wheeler and Kyle Hall leaving he seem reassured that the new band members would fit in comfortably.
What I like about Mark is he does like to be photographed, although I did remind him of that time he …

Red Bullets at Silverstone, sneak peek.

An amazing day spent with one of my favourite bands just by the Silverstone race track ahead of the British Gran Prix happening now.
I took quite a few photos, but for now here are a few images for the fans.

Wired at Rickmansworth Festival 2010

In my most humble opinion , it’s my website so I can say what I like , you have two choices as an up and coming band; be an originals band where you write, arrange and perform your own songs, or you are a covers band. An originals band have their own problems to hurdle the main one being most people have not heard of their songs. With a covers band you face another difficulty in that the audence will know the songs you sing, they will know it …

True Beat. Ska Music has a showcase.

I was invited along to the Rickmansworth Festival on Saturday by Wired. I was there to cover their performance off and on the stage.
Since Wired were headlining I also had quite a few bands playing before them, one of them was a Ska band called True Beat. I was very impressed with their stage performance and couldn’t help getting some shots which I’m proud of. Let me know what you think!?

The Red Bullets at the PictureDrome, Northampton.

The Picturedrome is a classic venue that heralds it’s greatest glory days back in the 60s. From the front it’s unasuming but it’s when you enter and get to the back to the main hall is where it’s splendor comes into sight. The high ceiling, art deco lights and a bar that stretches all the way across is wonderful, and a great setting to hold a music gig.
I have already said so much about the Red Bullets so I won’t say much except they are getting better and better as …

The Bad Cats. A Wedding/Cover band.

While I was photographing a wedding in Wales I happend across the band called the Bad Cats. They are a talented bunch of lads from Manchester. Even though I was photographing a Wedding, I spared a few minutes to capture the band playing, after all, what kind of Gig Photographer would I be if I didn’t take a few shots?
I wouldn’t normally post cover bands (NBS is the only other exception), but I thought why not! It’s the last band I’ll shoot in 2009 and it has been a damn …

NBS perform at The Aristocrat, Aylesbury.

NBS asked gigphotographer to photograph their band when they came to play in Aylesbury.  They specifically wanted some posed shots and some ‘caught in the action’ shots in their two sets.
I had heard them play once before, and to say that my ears enjoyed it would probably sum it up pretty well! My ears were ringing for AGES after the gig! Yes….I should invest in some ear plugs.
This time round, I was excited to see a full set and again, it was very pleasing! They pounded out the first song …

Pete Edwards, the front man of The Red Bullets.

It is the opinion of this Photographer (and it is only an opinion) that every band lives and dies with their front man; Aerosmith needs Steve Tyler, Foo Fighters needs Dave Grohl and The Red Bullets need Pete Edwards. Pete has to bare the weight as the voice of the Bullets so his stage performance is equally as important as his vocals.
Unlike most front men, Pete is behind a keyboard which is in a seated position. This means he is physically limited to how he can perform on stage, but …
