It was the weekender at a local pub, I couldn’t attend on Saturday beacause of conflicting photo assignments, but I am so glad I went last night. I saw 3 acts, Lisa was the first one I caught. She played a great set and was always natural infront of the camera. That’s the wonderful thing about bands, they’re always prepared to be photographed and don’t mind you taking shots.
Lisa and the band played to a receptive crowd, there was quite a buzz with many people enjoying the music.

I went to a friend’s engagement party. I only knew the bride and groom so everyone else was new to me. It was a challenge to get people comfortable infront of the camera; it is always good practise getting natural shots. What is always surprising is how some shots just work better than others with a bit of luck as well.
I worked hard to get the shots I wanted, I’m happy with the results.

I’m helping a friend decorate his house, there’s a Polish plasterer here. With his broken ‘Engleesh’ and his political views he’s certainly a dynamic character. However, there was a moment where the low sun was lighting up the room he was plastering. He was covered in dirt, paint, glue and all sorts and there was a moment he was really concentrating on his face, there was dust kicking up by his feet as he was shuffling along the wall he was plastering and it would have made a BRILLIANT photo… …

I don’t know about other photographers but one of my ambitions, for I done many but still have much to do, is to spend a considerable time in Africa and capture the grandure, the majesty yet the struggle, poverty and the humanity (or lack off) in one of the oldest continents.
There are so many vivid postcard moments that I want to photograph and experience. In my mind I want to see Disney’s Lion King come to life through my lens. I want to see the real people of Africa, the …

“It was a dark and stormy night…” Well, not quite, but it was one of the chilliest days around our capital I’ve experienced this year so far. I had 3 layers on and I still felt icy.
A dozen photographers from the website travelphotographers.net gathered in London to take shots that we may not normally take. Having worked in London for many years, I still don’t know it anywhere near as well as I’d like to, so this had great potential to photograph environments I had never been before.
