Day 4 was an opportunity to know the children a bit better. A football came was arranged (as much as things can be arranged in Africa) so it was entertaining to photograph them showing off their skills. Most of them were more fascinated by my origins and how my camera gear worked. What is surprisingly refreshing was although the children wanted to know everything, they remained respectful and never sulked or moaned like some children I know. They showed an astonishing amount of maturity which is both fascinating and a …

I had met some of the children yesterday so today was a better opportunity to spend more time with them. I deliberately did not ask about their past; I felt that whatever they would reply I would never fully understand their experiences. But when I met them, the most wonderful thing was how they really enjoy the company of each other and are just great children!! I see kids in England who are spoilt, crude, rude and do not appreciate how easy they have it, so for me it was …

Ahhh, Africa! It has been a long dream of mine to photograph in one of the most amazing and spiritually rich countries in the world. In my search for something that captures my heart (relationships comes to mind) I needed something that would just release my creative side. As much as I love Australia and South East Asia, it has always been Africa that conjured up great images in my mind.
This journey was as much about the people as it was about the land and it was definitely the people …

Just a teaser. I was privileged to photograph the final Netball tournament in Stoke Mandeville this evening. For me it was a gruelling 3 hours of rushing around for the best angles while trying not to get in the referee’s way. All the girls played with passion and sportsmanship. Towards the end of the evening one poor girl really busted up her ankle which swelled up to the size of of an Orange!
More photos to come soon, but as usual I am sensitive to the fact some people may not …

The Red Bullets have recently been touring the Alps, so when I heard they were home and playing their first gig back in the UK in Buckingham, I was down there in a shot! I have had the pleasure the photograph The Red Bullets fairly regularly, recently at The Stables Theatre in Milton Keynes late last year before they flew off to another country – if I could have followed them I would!
I love the energy that The Red Bullets bring to a performance, they never falter and keep the crowd at …

Watching The Red Bullets perform again was a fantastic opportunity! The gig sold out so quickly they had to release standing tickets, and the crowd came from parts all over the country. I am always astounded by their performance each time I see them, thinking I know what to expect having seen them perform a few times now, but EVERY time I am proven wrong. The Red Bullets give it everything they’ve got for every song of their gigs, and then… they give a bit more! It’s …

Cycle 2008
A good friend invited me to the Cycle show held in Earls Court, London. I wasn’t sure what to expect as it was yesterday was only traders and not open to the general public until this weekend. I had a great time meeting people and finding out about this industry which I am happy to discover is still growing.
