I’m afraid I didn’t get to speak to the guys much as we were all busy doing our jobs. When you also take into account the restricted space in a moving bus then it’s amazing we could even see each other at times! During the rare opportunities I could chat they seemed like a dedicated bunch and certainly worked well together. I appreciated the fact that they gave me space to work whenever I needed it; I have had my battles with videographers at Weddings and it’s not always a …

You hear it all the time at Award ceremonies, gigs and on the back of Album, “We couldn’t do it with our fans!”. That is so true! Without those dedicated people who support the acts then it means nothing; there are musicians who do it for the art which I respect but I suspect many artists do it so that they can reach out to people; to move them emotionally, to take them on a roller-coaster ride! This is why fans are so important!
So, as a tribute to those who …

The last in the series of photos from Slashed Seat Affair’s “No More Lies” video shoot. I have much to say, but many people have told me (repeatedly) that I am no gud at writng copy (cheeky bugers!). All I will say is Kelly and I had an amazing day with the gang, the production team and the fans who came along as extras! I am confident that I shall be hearing more about them in 2009!

A huge personal thank you from Kelly (check out her website) and I for all those who have seen the Slashed Seat Affair photos and a big hug to those who have left comments on the blog! The response has been overwhelming, it just proves with a tiny bit of luck, a very attractive band and a bit of online networking you can produce some great results. Gigphotographer.com is still a very young website but with your help I know it will grow and grow in 2009.
Today, I will be …

Friends will know from the outset that I’m a big fan of percussion so it is with great pleasure I present Rob Meehan, the drummer from Slashed Seat Affair.
I don’t know what it is about drummers but there is always something special about them; there is definitely a quite confidence about Rob. I didn’t really get to interact with him much during the day as the director wanted him in most of the shots; I did manage to get him to myself during the lunch break so I had the …

Every great band needs someone to pull everything together with maturity and strength of character. Darren unites the band as well as displaying an energy that you wouldn’t normally get from bass players. As well as an awesome bass player, he’s also the “go to” man. Whenever there have been any issues or questions then he’s the man who can resolve them.
Photographically, Darren always brings wonderful guitars to the table; they are always works of art. When shooting the solo portrait photos in the bus I asked Darren if he …

Ellie, the beauty and voice of Slashed Seat Affair

I am sure everything there is to say about Ellie has been said; tanacity, wildness and confidence is what I see through the lens. Can I say “seXy”…? Yes… I can!! She was very easy to photograph but most of the credit has to go to Kelly for capturing the candid shots!
Don’t forget to check out this band at slashedseataffair.com
Enjoy, and PLEASE leave feedback at the bottom!!!!

When a band that I respect and admire contacts me and asks me to photograph their Video Shoot it’s an offer I cannot refuse. For now I won’t reveal what the video shoot was about as I’ve just backed up the photos and won’t start editing until tomorrow. I will be uploading them throughout the week with each day representing an individual member of the band with Friday showing the group photos. So please come back soon and check out the photos as I put them online.

Most of you may not have heard of Slashed Seat Affair; to be honest I hadn’t until the summer of 2008 when this gorgeous band unassuming band played an awesome set that knocked me away!! I was shooting local Gigs in Aylesbury; I did a bit of homework by visiting their MySpace page before I went to the gig to see what Slashed Seat Affair were like. I immediately liked them but that didn’t prepare me for how they play live!
Fast forward a few months and they invite me to …

The summer of 2008 was one of my most memorable; not because of the weather or the Olympic games but because it was a summer when I had my eyes opened to the music talent that is out there just 5 minutes drive away from my home in the middle of Aylesbury.
I photographed well over 30 bands over the summer, some were tolerable but there were some astounding acts that I could shoot and hear for free! One of these bands were The Swamis; 3 lads from Buckingham who are …
